Susan Hiller in Como: an exhibition and a conference

The exhibition of Susan Hiller in Como at the Fondazione Antonio Ratti has been inaugurated on July 14th 2011 in the Spazio Culturale Antonio Ratti located in the former Church of San Francesco. The opening of the exhibition has been preceded by a conference of Susan Hiller at Villa Sucota, seat of the Fondazione Antonio Ratti. The topic of the conference was The Provisional Texture of Reality.

The exhibition of Susan Hiller in Como is open until September 8th 2011. The title of the exhibition is “PSI Girls”, a reference to the supernatural powers of telekinesis.

The ‘PSI Girls’ exhibition

This exhibition was created in 1999 and is for the first time in Italy at the Spazio Culturale Antonio Ratti in Como. It is an installation with five sequences from different films showing the power of telekinesis, i.e. moving objects with the power of mind. The colors of the sequences have been changed by the artist and suggest the presence of a different unknown reality. The American artist deals in PSI Girls with one of her favorite topics, paranormal and supernatural. The exhibition of Susan Hiller in Como is accompanied by a photography installation called The Aura, Homage to Marcel Duchamp, created in 2011, where Susan Hiller revisits the ghosts and the obscure side of our life.
