The news of the Locarno Film Festival

The Locarno Film Festival will be from August 3rd to August 13th 2011. The festival has reached its 64th edition and will present the international news and the best selected films.

The Locarno Film Festival will be opened by the film Super 8 of the American film director Jeffrey Jacob Abrams, with actors such as Kyle Chandler and Noah Emmerich. The Locarno Film Festival is always a very appreciated event by the international cinema fans. The festival will propose this year 20 films, and 14 are world premieres.

How to reach the Locarno Film Festival
A practical way to reach Locarno from Como is by train. So you can enjoy fully the wonderful mountain panorama you go through. There are some trips with a change in Chiasso, but you can take a train which arrives directly in Bellinzona without change. Once in Bellinzona, take a local train to Locarno. The duration of the trip depends on the kind of train you take. Generally you need at least one hour and a half. It is possible also to reach Locarno by car, mainly by highway.
